We’re starting the year with a quick product overview. In this post, we’ll share our current product and explore what’s coming in Q1 2023.

For labels & artists

There’s currently an overwhelming amount of users in the metaverse, as well as web3 games & apps that need or are using music without the proper permissions.

We’ve been tracking music usage to an extent and so far the numbers aren’t great — the music industry has to avoid a situation where a game or metaverse grows to stratospheric levels and the music used in their games hasn’t been paid for.

For that reason, we created our custom Uploader. Labels, artists & any rightsholders owning songs can upload their files and generate the unique web3 metadata files that allow us to track all reproductions happening in web3.

Not just that, for labels with large catalogues can import their songs via DDEX transfer from their distributors.

Our web3 music uploader is currently available to our record label & publishing partners. An open version of the uploader will be launched before summer 2023 so independent artists can also benefit from our tech.

For games & metaverse

Contrary to what many users think, one cannot reproduce one’s favourite songs (i.e. at a event in the metaverse, as part of a game soundtrack…) without having permission from rightsholders.

Of course, we do not want to get into a web3 environment and find out there’s low audio quality, or that, in some cases, the metaverse is silent!

In order to offer web3 builders the best music from top labels without breaking the bank, we’ve released our music API. It takes 10 minutes to install and all the web3 work is done by us behind the scenes — so developers can focus on building great experiences.

For fans & investors

Data is in our core.

From inception, we wanted to ensure data transparency so that fans and music investors could get the most detailed information before investing in musicians.

We’re still working on new analytics tools as well as new data points. So far, we’re generating data from 6M+ artists worldwide and aim to continue being the hub for music data in web3.
