Soundpickr Update 5th Sept, 2022
We’re changing the way we share updates and wanted to offer regular long form updates. For those that are part of our Discord, you’ll have seen our bi-monthly update. In order to give an in-depth overview of what we’re working on, here’s today’s update:
Soundpickr Data is now on Beta
This title is probably our best attempt to poetry (or a failed attempt to making a hit hip-hop track).
As bad poets as we might be, we pride ourselves from being the best at music and data. We started to build the platform with the vision to be the hub for music data (web3 and legacy data).
After many months of blood, sweat and tears, we pushed the last changes for our beta platform. Users can now analyse data on 3M+ artist worldwide and investigate if their next music NFT purchase can bring a return.
We have three main formulas to track music revenue: revenue generated by active fans (ILV), passive listeners (ISV), and the total market value of the artist (PAV). We explain all our formulas in our post decoding the Soundpickr formulas.
Refining our vision
We’ve always been about data. In fact, we believe it to be our superpower.
For a while we had a focus on the sale of NFTs but that’s not how we see the music industry developing. Music and NFTs definitely have the opportunity to change an outdated system and we’re building tools to get to that point as soon as possible.
The way musicians, songwriters, producers, and any other creative involved in making songs, get paid for their work is slow, messy and underpaid.
In an upcoming post, we’ll be detailing our roadmap and share all the details of the tools and web3 solutions we’re building for music. And all of this with a heavy focus on data.
Communication & Content
As mentioned at the start of this post, we’re updating our content output. Our social media game has been all over the place and we are now focusing in useful content, long form posts, insights, analysis, and all things NFTs and music.
You’ll notice new content style on our socials and we’re going to bring the volume up (pun intended) on our organic engagement game.
